Merry, Merry Christmas to you! Today is Christmas Eve and tomorrow is the "Big" day, Christmas. There will be lots of celebrating with your family and friends. Jolly ole St. Nick will surely be busy tonight, Christmas Eve, making his rounds delivering toys/gifts to all the good little boys and girls.
I can remember how excited my boys were when they got up on Christmas morning and all the fun they had opening their gifts. Their eyes were lit up and big smiles on their faces. As they grew up, they knew the real reason was to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior.

With the old year behind us and a new one straight ahead, it’s a good time to think about making some changes in the garden. While you’re pondering your 2026 landscape upgrades, LSU AgCenter horticulturist Jason Stagg hopes you’ll give consideration to one of his favorite plants: the sasanqua, a species of camellia.
“I don’t believe that this shrub gets enough attention,” Stagg said. “It really deserves to be recognized and planted more.”

A thoughtful column on the Mississippi Today website laid out a couple of education ideas that have nothing to do with the pending school choice proposal that would allow families, with state assistance, to enroll their children in whatever school they wish.
Bradley Roberson, superintendent of the Oxford School District, wrote that a state lawmaker challenged him: “If not school choice, then what?” He has a couple of good ideas worth considering. Anything like them would transform education in Mississippi.
