All the world's a stage…"
So said William Shakespeare, and it is especially so in Washington Parish. From the early days, our forebears were putting on and performing in shows and pageants. And it wasn't just at Peter Pan, a magical summer tradition and program featured in my column last summer. Fantastic local talent is found on the stage community-wide with schools the training ground.

I learned recently that there was a time when Christmas was not the biggest holiday of the year. Easter was the largest celebration among Christian households.
It was in fact retail stores who brought a great deal of hype to Christmas, creating characters such as Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer to boost sales. The economy brought about this enormous celebration even though St. Nicholas in some form or another had been visiting children to leave gifts for centuries before.

“If you don’t have Christ in your life, you’re missing out,” advised Judy McNeil. “He completes you. He makes you whole. He stands beside you and lifts you up when you fall down. He is everything. Just be happy. Don’t sit around and worry about stuff all the time.”
Over the years, Judy McNeil has discovered just how vital God is in her life. She feels blessed and gives Him the credit for helping her overcome many of the obstacles she has faced.
She has always had a large family and has many wonderful memories with them from the time she was just a young girl.

Guarding spiritual intimacy, is about guarding your personal relationship with Christ; which means treating your relationship with Jesus as something precious, personal, and not to be neglected or cheapened. Much like intimacy in human relationships, spiritual intimacy requires time, attention, and intentionality. May I suggest a few things a person can do to guard their relationship with Christ? First, don’t let distractions erode your spiritual focus.
