The Clarke County Chamber of Commerce was thrilled to announce Quitman City Hall as the Business of the Month SPOTLIGHT for the month of June.
Quitman City Hall is what makes sure that the city is able to function properly and prosper. They control the budget for the city and try to wisely use taxpayer funds as they maintain departments that provide clean water to the community, maintain roads and infrastructure, provide garbage pickup, and maintain sewage lines in the city.
The mayor and board of aldermen frequently search for grants and other funding to assist in renovations and necessary upkeep for both recreational and infrastructure purposes so that they can provide what residents need in order to use their budget more effectively and save taxpayers money.
They also support the Quitman Police Department and do everything they can to provide a safe environment for all the residents.
Each month, they have board meetings that are open for the public to attend to express any concerns and learn more about what is happening in the city. The Quitman Board of Aldermen meetings are scheduled to take place the first and third Tuesday of every month, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
