Sitting in my office I get a call about county employees in the road directing traffic. I was told that they were directing traffic because someone was getting their driveway done.
I did what I like to do and that’s see for myself.
When I drove past, I saw that it was in fact county employees directing traffic while a person was receiving milling on their driveway.
Why do I keep reporting on something as trivial as people receiving milling for their driveways? I’ll tell you.
I sit in the board meetings and hear about how they don’t have money for this or that—how in the last meeting they had to expand the budget for the road crew so they could continue to maintain the roads in our county.
How is continually providing milling for driveways maintaining the roads?
What I see is misuse of funds in an election year. The citizens are also noticing.
I was told by the supervisors that milling could be provided in a driveway was at an incline and causing a hazardous road condition.
You can clearly see in the attached photo that the driveway in question is not at an incline.
I get this is another write-up about driveways, but it’s what people keep asking me about.
The biggest question I get is, “Why are they getting away with it? If they say they can’t do it, then why do they keep allowing it to happen?”
My answer is I don’t know, but as long as it continues to happen and people keep calling, I will continue to report on it.
