Wayne Butler entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 11, 2024. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family members at his home in Quitman, MS.
Wayne was born April 5, 1947, in Philadelphia, MS, to Horace and Tressie Butler. He loved to ride his tractor and was always willing to help anyone who asked.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Wayne was an Army veteran and served during Vietnam Era and was proud of serving his country. He was a hardworking man of many talents. He did a little of everything from millwright, welder, mechanic, and crane operator to carpenter. For many years, he owned his own business on the coast, K & W Marine Services, and built bulkheads and boat houses.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Pamela Butler; daughters, Laurie Butler Johnston (Stan) of Carthage, MS, and Jeannie Butler Eubanks (Tony Pope) of Philadelphia, MS; sons, Ken Butler (Alice) of Livingston, TX, Luke Comans (Stacey) of Grove City, PA, and Kristopher Butler of Quitman, MS. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and two nieces and two nephews in Texas. Special mention of his best friend, Robert Bosarge, of Pascagoula, MS.
Wayne was preceded in death by his father, Horace Butler of Grenada, MS; mother, Tressie Butler of Philadelphia, MS; and sister, Bobbie Myers (Sonny) of Longview, TX.
No service at this time.
Burial is to be at Corinth Baptist Church in Double Springs, AL.
