In the video taken by Publisher Belinda Allen, Whitaker interupted Sheriff Anthony Chancelor and turned in a resignation letter.
What was said right before the video was started was Sheriff Chancelor requesting hotel stay for several deputies.
When Whitaker stood up, he asked the sheriff who was he taking, Jordan or his wife, before laying his resignation letter on the table.

There are conflicting reports right now on if all six deputies resigned or were terminated.
The following are the six deputies no longer with the department:
Sgt. Andy Lafferty, Sgt. Steve Whitaker, Sgt. Kenneth Holifield, Deputy Peyton Kennedy, Deputy Ellis Ray Doggett, and Don Moore.
We have spoken to one deputy who stated that they were told they were fired. The Sheriff stated in a press release that they resigned.
