Amazingly unique, handcrafted gifts, freshly prepared food, and even some fresh, Fall crops for the kitchen--it’s all at Earth’s Bounty’s annual Merry Night Market on Thursday, November 20 from 5-8 p.m. in the Courtyard of The MAX on Front Street downtown.
A truly merry market would include Santa, so he’ll be there with his inflatable friends, like a reindeer and a snowman, all posing for photos with the children. The children and the adults will all enjoy the rich country sounds of The Family Gathering, composed of four musicians who blend vocals and acoustics into some familiar, yet unique, musical twists.
Stroll around the market grounds, sipping a cold brew and listening to the live music, while checking out some exquisite, one-of-a-kind gifts, such as stained glass, Christmas ornaments, fused glass, Venetian earrings, earthy pottery, and intricate jewelry made from objects like silverware and old watches. Be sure to check out the charming Fairy Houses at the Gypsy’s Moon. These small creations would make delightful Christmas tree ornaments.
Fresh vegetables that should be available include collard greens, turnips and other root vegetables. And, for a snack while shopping or to take home after the market, pick up something fresh like burgers from Hillbilly Dots, Philly Cheese Steaks and fried tomatoes from Jabo’s Eats or a Mexican feast from A Twisted Taste. As an added treat, another vendor will be selling cotton candy.
Another new vendor will be flipping mini pancakes, and some Earth’s Bounty regulars will have popular baked items like cookies, pies and breads.
A unique experience will be the black light splatter paint booth, from which some crazy and wild creations will emerge. Another treat that the children will especially love will be the charming balloon animals, hand twisted by talented artists to look like the kids’ favorite animals. The balloon artists do charge a small fee for their creations.
