Supervisors to hire additional 4H agent

The board of supervisors met with 4H Agent Christy King last week to initiate a board order to hire an additional Extension Agent for 4H. The hiring process will be handled through a committee with Mississippi State Extension Service. The county’s portion is $10,000 a year plus the retirement portion.

Taxpayer complains of under developed industrial park

The Board of Supervisors opened the June meeting with concerns from a local resident regarding the Clarke County Industrial Park, which is located at Highway 18 West and 45.

The county owns 325 acres that is located to the south and west of Mr. Charles Shepherd’s home at 258 Highway 18 West.
