The New Orleans Saints signed Clinton native Cam Akers to a one-year contract this past weekend. Akers, 26, who led Clinton to the MHSAA Class 6-A football championship in 2016, was the Mississippi Gatorade Player of the Year in 2016. He was a second-round draft choice of the L.A. Rams out of Florida State in 2020.
