“On the way to the scene, the officers met the one who was shot driving in an erratic manner,” explained Police Chief Mike McCarra. “At that time, some officers continued to the scene of the incident while other officers followed the car to the Sheriff’s Department.”
According to authorities, Cornelius Scott shot Cedric Jones in the right arm. It appears that Jones was shot through his car window. Jones was transported to the hospital for his injuries, and Scott was taken into custody without incident.
At this time the shooting is under investigation. Law enforcement officials are striving to make sure that the case is thoroughly investigated so that justice can be given.
“We don’t want to charge anyone the wrong way, and we don’t want to let anyone go who needs to be charged,” stated McCarra.
