There will be a Lake Run 250 at Clarkco State Park, located at 386 Clarkco Road in Quitman, on June 13. All proceeds from the race will benefit the Friends of Clarkco State Park to help build a camping-area fire pit and swings and to support the America’s 250th Celebration.

Sheriff, Board of Supervisors, and the Jail

There has been some confusion as to the relationship between the Sheriff and Board of Supervisors and who enforces the grand jury report of the jail.

The Clarke County Board of Supervisors (BOS) does not have any authority over the Sheriff.

The Sheriff is hired by the voters of each county.
