Supervisors approve land rolls

The Board of Supervisors met for the first meeting of August and approved the final land and personal property rolls for the county. Those tax bills for the year 2015 will be mailed to land owners in November.

Supervisors approved tax exemption for BTH

The Board of Supervisors voted Monday to approve a tax exemption to BTH; but was not happy about it. Board Attorney Greg Snowden advised the supervisors the exemption had to be granted because of an Inducement Agreement however, this exemption will not relieve the company from paying the required school taxes.

Board accepts bid for purchase of new fire truck for Stonewall

The Board of Supervisors met Monday to discuss and approve a bid for the purchase of a new fire truck for Stonewall Volunteer Fire Department. The bid was accepted from Pierce Manufacturing for $295,592.85.
