“Always put God first,” advised Lynn Taylor. “Before you get up in the morning, you first need to pray before your feet hit the ground. Then, the next thing you need to do is make your bed. If you haven’t managed to do anything else that day, you will have at least accomplished one thing: making your bed.”
Lynn Taylor knows just how important it is to start each day off with God and making sure He is first in everything she does.

Clarke County resident Cynthia (CJ) Traywick has recently taken on a battle against cancer. It all started back in January of this year.
“In January, she started feeling like she couldn’t breathe,” explained her husband, Joey Traywick. “She went to her doctor in Newton. They did x-rays and told her that she had pneumonia, but they were worried about a large mass on her right lung. She told her that she was going to send her straight to the hospital. They called me, and she came home and got some clothes before we went to the hospital.”

Some former Clarke County residents have helped make history with the South Jones Band by being the first Mississippi school band to travel to Ireland to take part in parades for St. Patrick’s Day. Although they no longer live in Clarke County, they have family members who still live in the area that are thrilled of what they accomplished.
One of the individuals who went was Assistant Band Director Cody Hunter.
The chance to go to Ireland wasn’t a sudden thing. They have been preparing for this chance for years.

This past week, most everyone on Facebook saw the story of the dog Jax. Poor Jax was a dog that was left tied to tree with no food or water in sight. The photos of Jax are just heartbreaking. Unfortunately, we had a cold snap, and due to the malnutrition and neglect of the owner, Jax didn’t make it.

In Matthew 6:33 we read, “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness…” This section of the Sermon on the Mount is about who or what is going to rule your life. Christ starts this line of reasoning in v.24 (No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon (money or material pursuits).” Matthew 6:33 is about who you serve; it is not primarily about worry or anxiety.
